Leather wax enhancers are primarily used to improve the gloss and water resistance of leather (containing wax-based components such as paraffin or synthetic waxes). However, their chemical components (such as organic solvents or surfactants) can lead to three types of problems when mistakenly applied to artificial tiles:
1. Discoloration (permanent discoloration due to pH differences or oxidation);
2. Surface damage (solvents dissolve the protective coating of the tile, leading to scratches or increased porosity);
3. Performance degradation (coefficient of friction increases from 0.5-0.7 to over 0.8, reducing slip resistance). It is recommended to conduct a small-area test before use (ideally ≤10cm² area) and strictly control the dosage (≤5g/m²) and wiping tools (microfiber cloth).
